ABOUT SOUND WINCHESTER
Sound Winchester is a collective of music and voice groups, demonstrating the diverse and vibrant range of creative talent in our city.
Launched in 2024, Sound Winchester has held free, whole day, community events showcasing these groups. Performances, workshops, talks, offering opportunities for everyone to try something new, to learn from others and to collaborate. Equally welcome along are those who prefer to listen to others making music together. Sound Winchester is for everyone.
SW 'Members' benefit from mutual support and collaborations. Regular meetings provide an opportunity for all group leaders to discuss opportunities coming up and to shape Sound Winchester events.

SOUND WINCHESTER NEEDS YOUR HELP
SECURING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
Sound Winchester was launched in 2024 as a brilliant initiative by Winnall Rock School. It now needs to fly solo. Sound Winchester could become an independent community group or a Community Interest Company, setting its own priorities and managing independent fundraising. It's an ambition that needs a team of dedicated volunteers to make it viable.
Is there enough interest to maintain SW as a forum to promote community music, sound, ideas and connection in this way or is there another path?
HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED
Come along to share ideas, energy and resources, and discuss opportunities for 2027 and beyond:
Sat 14th November, 11am at The Arc
Mon 16th November, 7pm at The Railway Inn
Each meeting will last up to 90 minutes.
Please email to attend either meeting or send your thoughts promptly if you cannot attend.
Thank you for everyone’s support so far.
